Dear ICS Students, Staff, Families and Visitors,
We are proud and excited to be kicking off our 10th new school year on a series of high notes as we celebrate accomplishments, milestones, and successes.
With the official merging of the education corporations of Lavelle Prep and New Ventures, Integration Charter Schools (ICS) has now become a reality. While preserving the unique identity and mission of each school, the merger now allows us to streamline a variety of operations under one united educational corporation. We are proud and excited to be kicking off our 10th new school year on a series of high notes as we celebrate accomplishments, milestones, and successes.
We are also extremely proud that Lavelle Prep was awarded its second renewal for a third five-year term. Due to the school’s demonstrated success, student growth, excellent graduation rates and continued efforts to integrate students within a college preparatory environment, the school has been granted another term through 2023. None of this would have been possible without such an extremely hard working staff, under the direction of our leadership and coaches, and our Principal, Chris Zilinski.
This year as well we received our third charter. Undertaken in collaboration with Saint John’s University. The Lois and Richard Nicotra Early College Charter School will open this July, thanks to generous support of Lois and Richard, and of our community. This exciting program will provide an accelerated pathway to higher education which will enable students to graduate from high school with a Regents diploma and as many as 60 college credits from St. Johns.
The ground has been broken and construction is underway for Corporate Common 3 which will include a state-of-art educational facility for the Lavelle Prep Elementary Division, New Ventures, and the Nicotra Early College Charter School.
Other exciting developments are on the horizon. Most recently, our newest charter Richmond Preparatory Charter School, was approved. The Richmond Preparatory Charter School will inclusively serve students on the Autism Spectrum within a college preparatory environment. The new charter will be open for the 2020-2021 school year.
Thank you for your continuing support of ICS and our students. Here’s to a fantastic 2018-2019 academic year.
