Dear Lavelle Elementary School Community,
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the newly appointed Principal of Lavelle Preparatory Elementary School. The elementary principalship provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. I firmly believe that every child can excel and that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and the future of our community and our nation.
I am passionate about education. During my career in Education, I was a Paraprofessional, a mathematics teacher, 6th grade team leader and most recently as the founding Assistant Principal right here at Lavelle Elementary. I am both elated and honored to continue my work with the students, staff and parents of Lavelle.
Along with the staff and parents, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Lavelle Elementary School by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners. Together we will focus on the use of data to inform instruction, Responsive Classroom to emphasize academic, social, and emotional growth, and provide exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities that focus on assuring the rigor of instruction in meeting the Common Core Learning Standards.
I am also pleased to announce that Alison LoSavio has been appointed the Assistant Principal of Lavelle Elementary school. She joins the school’s leadership team with administrative responsibilities focused on supervision of academics, as well as providing professional development for staff. Alison has a passion for community outreach and creating partnerships within the community. Together, we hope to create an environment where all students feel valued and heard.
During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students the best opportunities in preparing for the world, ready to master challenges placed in their path. As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss your concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this year the best it can be!
