Principal’s Message (Elementary)

Dear Lavelle Prep Elementary Families and Students,

The staff of Lavelle Prep Elementary School would like to take this opportunity to welcome back all returning families. Additionally, we are looking forward to working with the new parents and students entering Lavelle Prep Elementary in the upcoming 2018 – 2019 school year.  As 2017- 2018 was our second year we believe it was a vast improvement academically, socially, and behaviorally in comparison to the first year. We are confident that our third year will continue to be successful as we plan to move forward in a positive direction. Lavelle elementary has added two more beautiful portable buildings and this year, and we expanded from 12 to 15 classes. In the upcoming school year, Lavelle Prep Elementary School will encompass five 3rd-grade classes, five 4th grade classes, and five 5th grade classes. We will continue to improve upon the positive behavior plan already in place for all students, which includes a Student Point Store to encourage positive learning behaviors, and a Student Elective Activity Reward Program. We are also eager to build upon our Sanford Harmony Program which is a curriculum that consists of a series of innovative relationship building teaching strategies designed to strengthen classroom communities, where teaching takes priority over resolving personal conflicts or issues among students. This incentive program rewards students for becoming involved in their school, achieving academic goals, as well as displaying good citizenship. Finally, last year we established a new elementary PTA program and it was most successful!  In collaboration with the PTA, we held many fundraising activities. In addition, collaboratively we initiated our first ever year ending senior trip and dance for the fifth graders. It is our hope that our Lavelle Prep Parent Involvement Programs will continue to grow with more opportunities for parents to act as partners in their child’s education by initiating more parent meetings and community involvement. We look forward to working collaboratively with you in an effort to provide a quality education for all of the students. Thank you for the honor of allowing us the prestigious opportunity to educate your children. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Sincerely,

Anthony Faiella
