Principal’s Message (Middle & High)

Dear Lavelle Middle School Families,

Happy New Year! It is with great pleasure and honor that I introduce myself as your newly appointed Middle School Principal.  I am excited to continue working with your middle school children and our Lavelle families. I remain committed to ensuring that your children are growing socially, emotionally, and academically in a nurturing and supportive learning environment that is challenging, engaging and fun every day.

Being a member of the Lavelle Prep family over the past ten years has prepared me to proudly accept this new opportunity. I joined the Lavelle family in 2009 as a 6th grade English Language Arts teachers. In 2012, I became our school’s Literacy Coach and in 2018 I assumed the role of  Lavelle Prep Upper Division’s Assistant Principal. My tenure at Lavelle Prep has allowed me to learn that all students deserve a high quality education, one that bridges gaps, inspires students to reach their highest potential and sparks a curiosity that motivates them to want to learn more. I aspire to be the kind of leader that does this for every student I work with.

Please know I am available and welcome your partnership, feedback and positive input throughout the year. I look forward to meeting each of you and leading and learning with you as we make the focus of our work all about the children we are all here to serve.

Sincerely,

Kristina Mazza

Dear Lavelle High School Families,

I am incredibly excited and honored to introduce myself in my new role as the new Principal of Lavelle Prep High School. I am honored to have been selected to lead Lavelle High which is known to provide one of the best academic experiences for our students in a nurturing, supportive and positive atmosphere so that they achieve their life-long dreams.

I have been with Lavelle Prep from the beginning, and over the past 10+ years, I have worked as both a teacher, curriculum leader and administrator here at Lavelle, but I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. I spend a lot of time with your children, while getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. As a team, we will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will continue to encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.

Not only am I eager to continue working with your children in this new capacity, but I look forward to the work we will do together as a team. I cannot wait to share with you the great things they do throughout their days here at Lavelle Prep. And of course, I will be here to work with you should they need any help navigating any aspect of their school day. Our goal as a team is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe, so they may learn as much as they can and reach their potential. This has always been my philosophy.

People often say I treat all children in the school as if they were my own, and I truly value that. Please know I will work tirelessly to ensure all your children have the best possible experiences while at Lavelle Prep.

Warm Regards, Dori Rexha
