Welcome Back, Lavelle Prep Elementary!

Dear Lavelle Prep Elementary Families and Students,

The staff of Lavelle Prep Elementary School would like to take this opportunity to welcome back all returning families. Additionally, we are looking forward to working with the new parents and students entering Lavelle Prep Elementary in the upcoming 2019 – 2020 school year.  As 2018- 2019 was our third year in existence we believe it was a vast improvement academically, socially, and behaviorally in comparison to the last two years. We are confident that our fourth year will continue to be successful as we move forward in a positive direction.

In the upcoming school year, Lavelle Prep Elementary School will encompass five 3rd-grade classes, four 4th grade classes, which will be housed in the trailers adjacent to the CC1 (Corporate Commons one) main building.  Additionally, we will have five 5th grade classes which will be located on the 3rd floor in CC1.

We will continue to improve upon the positive behavior plan already in place for all students, which includes a Student Point Store/Movement Reward Program to encourage positive learning behaviors. We are also eager to build upon our Sanford Harmony (student wellness) Program which is a curriculum that consists of a series of innovative relationship-building teaching strategies designed to strengthen classroom communities.  This incentive program rewards students for becoming involved in their school, achieving academic goals, as well as displaying good citizenship.

It is our hope to continue the PTA program as it has been most successful in the past. We encourage all parents to join the PTA to support your child in their academic endeavors! In collaboration with the PTA, we held many fundraising/student activities (bake sales, field day, fifth-grade trip/dance and the renaissance fair) just to name a few. It is our hope that our Lavelle Prep Parent Involvement Programs will continue to grow with more opportunities for parents to act as partners in their child’s education by initiating more parent meetings and community involvement.

Last year we held our first ELA parent/student workshops. We plan on continuing the ELA workshops and implementing a new Math parent/student workshop bi-monthly on Fridays this upcoming school year. We look forward to working collaboratively with you in an effort to provide a quality education for all of the students.

Thank you for the honor of allowing us the prestigious opportunity to educate your children. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Sincerely,

Anthony Faiella
